It the locking rear diff worth the extra cost??
-
Imho yes it is. But really that's for you to decide if it is or not, I've been known to take rigs where I shouldn't, where locking rear diffs were a godsend. If you never find yourself needing one, it may not be worth the cost. I doubt it will add a ton to resale value.

YES!!! A 2 wheel with locker can make a big difference. I hate 1 leggers. Even the factory limited slips are decent for awhile. A true locker is great. 4 wheel drive better especially locked up in rear. Depending on price it might be cheaper to go aftermarket if buying new?? :twocents:

The answer is: it depends.

Without question you need a locker or LSD.
A 4WD without either is, at best, 2WD.
Try parking your amazing Toyota on a rut with one front and one rear off the ground and see how far you get.

I'd say yes. You probably won't need it most of the time, but you'll be glad you have it when you need it.
I got stuck last hunting season, I wouldn't have if I had a rear locker.

All my trucks get a locking diff.
I would not own one without one.
-
Absolutly get one...best investment you won't regret
-
mine came with an eaton G80 manual locking diff.

Exactly this.
It is the cheapest, surest way to enhance the traction in your truck for those times when you need it.
