Title: Cures for Squid and herring. Sturgeon fishing.
Post by: wapiti hunter2 on May 05, 2018, 06:59:00 PM
I am going to cure squid and herring for Sturgeon bait.

I can get Pro-Cure at Sunbird and Cabela's. But, I am looking for any other simple recipes. I want to cure a couple dozen of each before we go in late June and want to freeze them after I cure them. I am looking for hints and help. I have never done this before. Also, What about adding scent just before we fish it?

Last year we paid a guide and had a blast. He was using some Pro-cure "secret" recipe and the bait was red/purple. We bought some bait in the local store and fished the next day by ourselves and caught one more but the bait wasn't cured to my satisfaction.

Any help will be appreciated.
