Just started yesterday on a fishing trip. Started by popping out of 1st, then it was 1st and 3rd. About 1/2 way home I had to hold it in all gears, if it went into gear. From what I see online and you-tube it looks like the shifter seat and socket and is an easy fix. Anyone with experience on this have any tricks or cautions I should worry about ? The only warning I hear at all was to not use A/M as they don't hold up or are made of rubber and to change out the fluid after to remove any debris. The vid's I watched mostly show a real sloppy shifter. Mine is very tight and has very little throw. Sound like my problem ?

Any input from the Toyota guys ? I got everything apart, cleaned and am waiting on parts. The boot that seals the unit was totally gone. Nothing but mountain mud in there. Any body ever run sea foam through a trans to clean it out ?
