Your definetly going to wanta read the regs, I know it opened for spring chinook but not sure if its even open for trout at the moment.

As I read it the whole river is open to trout First Sat. in June-Apr. 15. It would be south of Black River. Where did you see it's open for springers?

NEVERMIND, simple google search and now i'm educated ;) thank you!

the only trout fishing i really know of in there would probably be sea run cutthroat later on in the summer and fall. there are bass in the sloughs though

What most people catch and think are trout in the summer are steelhead smolt. There are very very few wild trout in the Chehalis system other than the sea run cutthroat that biggoontuna mentioned and you won't really start seeing them until August.
