Something haven't seen in awhile, these were from a past fishing trip out of Seward AK, I'm sure some of you have great pics from the San Juan areas, let's see them...

It is pretty awesome to get that close.  When I was in Alaska I had a cow and a calf (I guess that's what you call them) circle my skiff at less than 6 feet away.  I could see them swimming about 10 feet under the boat and it scared the living hell out of me especially when I was by myself and 6-7 miles from the lodge.  I stopped fishing for halibut until they left for fear that they would come after it if I hooked one.

We used to see them every once in awhile around the Narrows. Haven't in a long time though. I wish they would stick around and eat up all the seals :chuckle:
