Anyone using this,I'm looking at putting it on my boat

Chirp is awesome, but I have it with Lowrance.

Yes, have that exact model and it's great! Easy to adjust sensitivity and screen modes. Very bright and clear even in the full sun and when the screen is dirty. It's also super easy to set the lower limits on the depth screen, like when trolling for Kokanee in deep water you can limit the returns to just show from surface to X feet down. Buttons are easy to use as well.
I considered the Helix 5, but so glad I got the 7. If you do split screens, the 7 is very much worth it. I can have maps/sonar/DI all on one screen and easily read everything while sitting about 4' away from it.

Yes, and it was my first time installing a sonar and it was super easy. I used the Stern Saver mini transducer mount, it glues on with a special epoxy and you don't drill any holes in your boat. There's a video on youtube (a lot of them, likely) on how to level a transducer – the guy uses a small level and a stack of quarters, do that and it'll work great. Wire clips keep wires where you want them. I'm sure there are a ton of online instructions for mounting sonars and transducers. Just lay everything out where you want it before you drill holes and bolt stuff down.
I do use the RAM mount and would highly recommend. It's maybe $50 or so, and just real easy. There's a special bracket that screws to the sonar, then just the standard ball and joint thing they do. Then the cables disconnect at the sonar, so you can pop the sonar unit off the boat when you're traveling and store it in the truck.

I have the helix five SI GPS. I love it I don’t have Chirp. Extremely user-friendly. If I was to do it all over again I would go for at least seven because of my eyes. I need a bigger screen. Other than that no worries good stuff easy to install and easy to learn
