Title: Unit 328 and 329
Post by: bornhunter on September 06, 2018, 09:11:28 PM
Anybody ever see any decent bucks in 328 and 329 or just too many elk for deer to make it there?

Decent deer are in both units but 329 is permit only.

The area will also be a zoo the next 2 weekends.

Elk are grazers, deer are browsers, so competition for food is not the determining factor.

Exactly. I don't know why everyone thinks that there's some sort of competition for habitat.

I've hunted 328 twice during modern, pretty epic country that should have some tanks, but I never see anything but dinks and does...and 375" bulls that are untouchable lol.

I hunt 328 for elk and rarely see any bucks.  A doe or two every year. Probably hang out on the private land on the lower hillsides.
