its still up there from what i can see.
-
Yeah it's still there. It's the west side auction tag. That's a slob of a bull.
-
I would love to just crest the ridge and see that bull , in that setting, just feeding!

my bad. was looking at the "kifarucast" IG page in the Kifaru_intl page. Heck of a bull.

I was thinking the same thing and to me that actually would be enough I wouldn't have to pull the trigger on that but just enjoy seeing and snapping some photos

I'd jerk that trigger so fast and hard that bull wouldn't know how close he was to dying! I'd probably hit 30 feet above him on the hill! :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
That is one sweet bull. Looks like the pack out sucked big time LOL

PIG! That background looks nothing like the west side, not starting nothing, just saying.

There's no story. It's just a picture posted on Kifaru's instagram page.

Definitely west side

Gotcha, thanks! Any work of the area it was taken in? Not exact, just vaguely?

The west side of the Cascades.
:chuckle:
-
Wow!!!! I think I might pee my pants if I came over the hill and saw that stud....
Congrats to the hunter

My thoughts exactly when I saw it. Not trying to start anything either, but nothing about the background in that photo says western WA. Must be somewhere that is technically western. Who cares I guess. Congrats to the hunter and thanks for the money that was raised in his purchase of the tag. What a stud!
-
Looks like NW Washington

:chuckle: True that. :yeah:
The confusion as is often the case is what record you choose to use, I am 99 percent sure this bull would not qualify for Rosie by the BC and PY records standard (west of 5 and generally "typical" rosie country with ferns, clearcuts, etc ). But would qualify as a Cascade Rose under NW big game records. Regardless, both sides of Interstate 5 have plenty of "crossover" areas hard to distinguish from a photo, so I could be way off base.
-
I'm going with it definitely being a Cascade Roosevelt bull in the NW Big Game record book. I guess it would be a Rocky Mountain elk in the Boone and Crockett book. I'm also assuming that the lucky hunter couldn't care less.
-
Yup, great bull! Wish i never mentioned the back ground.

It’s real folks. Scored a 363. Just talked to the fella who put him down. Congrats again Ben

I’m willing to bet it’s not far from some decent skiing. Could be wrong
-
I would have thought it was a lot bigger than 363 from that picture, by I suck at scoring.
Beautiful trophy!
-
Anyone know the area that was shot in?
-
that is a awesome bull
-
Can you imagine that dude stepping out of the weeds next to you in a spike only unit ? Awesome bull.

Ya, looks like it should be way more then 363. Maybe deductions knocked it down. I'd like to know the gross vs. Net score on that stud.

I was thinking the same thing.

"Gagger Bull" ... Congrats!
-
Dandy bull. congrats
-
Jeeeezuuss, that's insane!
-
All about perspective. African hunters are the masters of posing. 363 is an exceptional bull anyway, but the photograph makes me think 400.
-
What a masher!
-
Wow congratulations
-
I’ve met Ben and he’s not a small dude. Here’s another pic that was posted on Kifaru’s IG page for perspective.

And for those questioning the background, I'm wondering how much time they've spent up high on the west slope of the Cascades??

If he carried the rack out that way he would have to be an animal. :chuckle:
-

I was thinking the same??? I have hunted tons of areas in the high country of the west side that looks like this terrain.

Cool picture.
Up or down that's an awkward load.
Congrats again on all the hard work it takes to getter done.
-
Nooksack unit!
-
Nooksack unit!
Inconceivable! all the big bulls were taken out of there 4 or 5 years ago.

haha, I've been thinking this the whole time. It's spitting image of a basin you could see up high on the west side.
-
Anyone know the area that was shot in?
Yep
-
That is a giant rack...mass, character, paddles and blades!
-
:yike: almost a moose lol nice.
-
Synder used to guide goat hunts up by baker, people were commenting about being in that area with him.. great bull. Couldn't imagine killing a bull of that caliber
-
Are you saying that Aron Snyder was guiding goat hunters on Baker?
Are you sure he wasn’t hunting with his buddies up there?
-
Hopefully he didn't have to pack that head to far like that. I packed a moose head like that and ended up with the worst muscle pains of my life. Great bull!
-
What a stud of an elk, masher for sure.

I dont believe anyone could packout the rack like that... It would be hell in the alder and reprod.

Not sure! I just remembered a long time ago listening to a podcast and he mentioned how he would drive a Subaru to the trail head for a hunt in baker area.
-

OK. Yeah he was hunting goats with some buddies up there a couple times.
-
I am positive the Aron Snyder has never guided any Goat hunters on Mount Baker or anywhere in WA for that matter...
