Title: Got to meet Kyle Spragens the new Waterfowl Section Manger
Post by: Special T on September 12, 2018, 12:10:26 AM
I went to the NW Washington Waterfowl Association meeting tonight and got to Meet Kyle & Belinda Rotton the Skagit area manager both gave a great presentation . Belinda had a great slide show presentation of the local work they have been doing to the local waterfowl areas. Mowing, Planting crops, and the work being done to reduce the amount of invasive species like cattails. Additionally she discussed the plans in place to turn Smith Farm/ Leque Island unit  into tidal land. Kyle replaced Don Kraege as the long time Waterfowl section manager. He has spent his entire career in the Pacific flyway in California, and Alaska. His presentation talked alot about the flyway and a bunch of the survey work that he has had a hand in doing. He seems in touch with with many of the communication problems the department has with us hunters, and in the next few weeks we will be hearing more about his plans to address it.
