So I am looking for a new 1911 in 10mm, Ive got it narrowed down to either the Kimber Eclipse Custom or the Springfeild TRP. I was wondering if anyone could help me narrow it down.

If I had to choose between the two handguns your deciding between. I would go with the Kimber. If I were to purchase a 1911 10mm today. I would go with the Sig Sauer TACOPS.

What does that SIG run???

The double stack 15+1 or might be 16+1 10mm Rock Island Armory 1911. I wouldn't buy an 8 shot gun.
Cheaper, but they've been building 1911's 3 times as long as Kimber or Springfield I bet.

Rock Island double stack........

GrabAgun has them in stock for $1049.00 and $7.99 flat rate Shipping.

There’s also the Para Ordnance Elite LS Hunter. They can be found for about the same price as the Sig.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Rock Island 10mm’s. If a guy wanted a double stack 10, it would be worth checking out.

My buddy has a Rock Island and it is a very nice gun. I have a Sig Tacops in 45 and love it also. Kimber is more name than quality anymore. They are not as great as they used to be. I would go Sig, Rock Island, Springfield then Kimber. When i was looking it was between Sig and Springfield and i found a safe queen Sig for $700 and couldnt pass it up. I would have bought the Rock Island Tac Ultra if i would have seen one before I found the Sig.

Rock island, bang for the buck. No pun intended lol

Thanks for all the info guys, Im actually buying/ trading for 3 10 mm’s getting a glock 20, a Rock Island, just want a nice single stack 10 mm 1911 for *censored*s n giggles but cant make up my mind which one.

That'd be my suggestion as well.
I have a couple Sig 1911 TACOPS, one of them is a 10mm. They're a great gun.

If you want a real 1911, it doesn't have an external extractor.
That rules out Sig right away.
I'd buy the Springer myself.
-
I was wondering who would mention a external bullet proof extractor first. The 1911 purists are kept awake at night at the mention of a external extractor. 1911’s can be temperamental with functioning well with a wide variety of loads. Sig’s external extractor design is bullet proof.

That's funny. My Sig 1911's obviously have external extractors and they sure seem like real guns to me. They even shoot real bullets and everything.
Here, maybe if you only look at them from this side they'll be more like a "real" 1911. :chuckle:

And if you look at a Sig 1911 from this side, it's not a "real" 1911. ;)

Needs more gadgets.
Even a Glock goes 'bang' and shoots real bullets.
I noticed Sig doesn't show any of their '1911s' from the right side.
Somebody in their marketing department agrees.
All business
