Hey folks,
Got in a final practice round at the range this afternoon, and I was very happy to find that my rifle seems to love the factory Nosler E-tip 140gr (7mm-08). I feel silly now for using them last hunting season -- thankfully my elk was taken at 40 yds so it didn't matter -- but the Hornady ELD-X load performed much worse. 3-4 MOA for the Hornady vs ~1 MOA for the Nosler (shooting off my bag and jacket as my only rests @ 100yds.
Curious how many other folks are running the e-tips and their experience with them, especially regarding terminal performance.

If I recall correctly, I believe Carpsniper has had good results on game with them.

:yeah: I have had great luck with them. I really prefer the accubond overall but when they first put he etips out I was asked to give them a try. I was very happy one of the guns that hates accubonds loved the 180 etip.
I have shot deer, boar and bear with them 5 total if I recall correctly. The killing power was awesome along with weight retention you get with the all copper bullets. All animals went right down upon impact "this was out of a 300 win so that helped"
My 2 cents is look at your ballistics and keep your max range to where you are still 2k fps and they will open great and kill cleanly. Much slower I worry how well they will open. All my shots were within 250 yards. So my velocity was up there and was opening them up great.

Thanks! Good to hear. I don't feel comfortable shooting much over 300yds anyway so I'll still be well over 2k fps at that range.

I Have had great results, from deer, elk to Eland they kill unbelievably well and hold together 92% of mass
