Title: West side fall bear
Post by: ljsommer on September 26, 2018, 10:33:56 AM
Any suggestions? What should I expect? Efficacy of prey calling? What time of day is most productive this time of year?
Going this Saturday morning with my partner, he's shooter I am binos/range.

Area we are going to be at is thick underbrush but good amount of predator activity.

Depends on your elevation and if there are any berries left.  This time of year I tend to see evidence of bears digging into the yellow jacket nests and ant mounds a lot.   Mostly evenings.

Saturday is the opener for muzzleloader deer.  With the 209 primer change, you may have more company than on a previous muzzleloader opener.

I didn't know that! Thank you for the tip.
