Title: Montana shoulder season
Post by: Waycott15 on October 03, 2018, 08:19:16 PM
Looking into doing a Montana shoulder season hunt in January or February. My question is if i tag out does it count towards 2018 or 2019?

Not sure what you mean by "count."  If you shoot one, you put the tag you have on it.  If you are talking about how many elk you can shoot in a season, I think it is the same as the dates on your license.

I’m wondering if i hunt the shoulder season in January, does that mean i have to buy a 2018 license or 2019 license

I believe they expire in February, but can't seem to find it easily on their website.  My license doesn't say when it expires.

You must have already purchased the tag. Though in some cases a A9 tag may become available for damage hunts. Licenses are good from March 1, 2018 till end of Feb. 2019
