Hey Members,
Doing a week long trip into Unit 10A for Rifle Deer / Elk this year. Have done the research on the unit, the where a bouts to hunt (purchased the Pot-Latch permits) but am now in need of some guidance on camping locations. Never actually being in the unit to Camp, I am hoping one of you experienced guys will guide me in the right direction 8). We have a 23' tow behind camp trailer and a 12' enclosed trailer w/ wall tent gear. It's a big camp, 6 guys. I am reluctant to drive around all day towing a trailer trying to find camping, near the reservoir. Are there camp grounds near by that I can get into? Do I need to reserve these camp spots or are they first come first serve? Yes, I have googled some and got some ideas, but I will always ask for help first :chuckle:
Anybody actually just camp on the Pot-Latch ground and find that better? We have the camping permits bought as well (just in case). Thanks for the help! And feel free to share your big bull elk spots too :chuckle:. Since we all know how well that goes on this Site.....

Look up Dent Acres. Never stayed there but have boated past it 100 time nice campground. Also on the southwest side is a ID state park.

Not many camps on the Potlatch stuff as of Saturday around noon when I was taking the long way back after filling my tag, but am sure it will become a lot busier starting next week so if you want a for sure spot, reserve one at one of the campgrounds.
