Any recommendations? I am looking at picking up a new CC and the only way I can feasible carry it where I plan to will be by ankle. I've never used an ankle holster so I'm not really sure what to look for.

I love mine and got it on Amazon...I will check which one...also probably depends on what you are carrying...mine is a S&W .380 w/crimson trace. Can't even tell I am wearing it and almost forget it is there

I'm likely getting something that size. I haven't determined which firearm I'll purchase yet.

I pack the S and W airweight 38 in mine. Works great.

99% sure it is the Pro-Tech that Amazon sells...pretty simple, Velcro secured as well as Velcro strap over pistol. probably would go thicker if it was a bigger platform. Also nice because you can take it off quickly and put it in your back pocket, coat, center console etc. I will double check tonight. BTW I LOVE my little .380 but there are tons of different opinions on that subject :chuckle:

I have several buddies that pack the S&W air-weight in 38 as well...they love it

If you’ve never shot a Glock42 before I suggest you try before making any purchases. That thing shoots like a DREAM.
I’m a very inexperienced handgun shooter and I was able to put 3 consecutive shots on the head on a silhouette target at 7yards the first time I shot it.
This was when I had only shot a handgun about 2 times prior!
I highly recommend it :)

Ankle holsters can work well depending on weapon size and activity. I carried a 4 in XD in a Galco ankle glove with calf strap, and a Blackhawk. I would not go any larger, and would consider a single stack 9mm, sub-compact, if I was to want to ankle carry again.
Both did fine. Just keep in mind they are not made for running or extensive movement. You will have to test which pants you can carry with and still pull your weapon when needed.
You will definitely need to give up your skinny jeans, LOL
If paired with the right pants, and practice drawing, it can be a decent backup.
Not the most comfortable carry position, but you get use to it.

I checked...it is the pro-tech size 1. The gun I carry is so light I can run with it on...stays right where I strapped it on. Like I said there are some pretty strong opinions on size/caliber to carry...I'm not going there. They all put a pretty painful hole in ya, as an old timer once told me :chuckle:
None the less Amazon is easy to return and usually free shipping. I can take a look at my order history to get the actual model number if you need. Like I said, I can carry mine with total confidence of concealment in neary every situation with comfort to boot. Those 38's already mentioned are on my wish list too...just because I love a good Wheel gun

I figured it'll end up being an LC9 or something of that nature. I've got big hands so I'll have to get choosy.
I'm not a huge fan of revolvers. Just never were my thing.
I really appreciate the help guys. Especially the advice on skinny jeans. Think my yoga pants will be ok? :chuckle:

Everywhere except Seattle. You may offend someone for improper use of said yoga pants :P

I carry an LC9 in an ankle holster with calf strap sometimes, it works for me when needed. like said not the most comfortable and not great for lots of movement, and no skinny jeans lol

Just wear a pair of wool boot socks with the shorts or cover the firearm with a fake soft ankle brace. :IBCOOL:
