I’ve always wanted to get a deer hide tanned. Buddy dropped a blacktail and offered the hide to me. Unfortunately this is a bad time for a DIY project so I’m just looking to send it out. Any recommendations?
I don’t need it to be functional—I just want to hang it up in my kid’s room (we live in the city without many hunting-friends, so I am trying to get as much taxidermy around him as possible).
Located in Seattle but driving back from Skagit tomorrow if there is anywhere along the way.

Try Moro taxidermy in lake Stevens

Do you know what the cost is to have a deer hide tanned with the hair on?

My old man just sent one in to artistic taxidermy in Portland. They are charging him 175. 3 month turn around

Do you pay up front or when it is done?

Moyle's Mink and Tannery is a good option, shipping charge and maybe higher quality than you're looking for :dunno:

Half now, half when done. He does great work

I had Rick at Cedar River Taxidermy take care of my elk hide last year. He ships them to an out of state tannery like most guys do now. The turn around time seemed long, but the end product was great.

+1 for Jeremy at God's Creation! He did a bear for me 2 years ago and it was great. He's got a few mule deer mounts under way for me as well.

Great, thanks guys. Lots of good suggestions—I’ll call around.

Albrecht Taxidermy in North Bend did mine a few years back. Sent out to a tannery of course with a few month turn around . I believe it ran around $140 for deer. He did a a bear my friend shot as well, both turned out great.

Gods creation completes it in house and I think charges $95 for a full deer hide.

I sent one to Promised land Tannery last year. It came back when they said it would, looking good. Good people to deal with.

My dad just got his back from Artistic Taxidermy in Portland like I posted months ago. Turned out amazing! Definitely worth the cost and not to mention the quick turnaround
