Title: Browning Micro Model Question
Post by: Firing Pin on December 17, 2018, 08:17:21 PM
Does anyone know it a full sized stock will fit on a Micro model?  I believe that the length of pull is the point of the micro, just wondering if after he grows out of the short stock can I just buy a regular model stock and bolt it on?

Thanks,
Firing Pin

Ok, that is what I was thinking but wanted more input rather than just mine.

Thanks for the info.

I was inquiring with Browning the other day about this, was told they are bedded to the action so you would have to most likely get it rebedded. Do you already have a micro rifle? If so which one the micro composite 13" lop or micro midas 12.5?

Shotgun or rifle?
I'm working on this exact issue right now.
I bought an adult-size Silver Hunter 20ga(great shotgun, love the thing).
When my son was 10, I called Browning and ordered the Micro buttstock, which included an action spring tube(shortened).
He hunted that for 3 years and this year, we are retrofitting the adult spring tube and buttstock.
If you own a Micro shotgun, it has a shortened spring tube and the spring tube is threaded on the end to accept the nut that attaches the buttstock.
Adult buttstock requires adult spring tube.
Let me know if you need more information.
Browning CS has been great to work with.

I do not have the rifle, I have been looking for a 7mm-08 or 308 for my son's first rifle.  We found one on gunbroker that is reasonably price but it is the Micro Model in 7mm-08.  He is a big 10 year old, 5 foot 130 pounds size 9 hoof.  He is growing so fast I don't want to buy a rifle and get it all set up and have him out grow it in a year or two.  Oh to make it a little more difficult (expensive) he is left handed so that complicates my options.

Browning customer service has been great for me.
They are truly excited to hear that you want to get a youth hunting and are willing to help.
I would expect an A-bolt or X-bolt has the same action/inletting in micro or adult.
Ask them....they probably have an upgrade/upsize program or ship with two stocks.
I love me some 7mm-08...Tikka has compact rifles, too.
