Title: Roosevelt boat launches
Post by: RugerRay on December 28, 2018, 03:09:27 PM: I'm planning on doing some fishing on Roosevelt tomorrow, and was hoping to bring the boat. Does anyone know if Hunters or the Daisy bait launch is closed due to the shut down?

I almost drove down to see what it looks like but didn't, usually there's a few feet that's clear next to the water, but the ramp could be pretty slick

it's snowing pretty good now too

edit: there's a closed sign on some of the marinas but everyone's ignoring it

I decided to leave the boat at home, and just bank fished for the day. I'm glad I left the boat at home, as the entire stretch of the Springdale-Hunters highway had about 7" inches of snow and wasn't plowed yet. Not much action fishing wise. Hunter's campground is usually a go to spot of mine, but didn't get a single bite from 7:00-1:00.

I've been down there a few times in the boat. Never off the bank though.

I don't doubt it. I have days there where we knock 'em dead, and days like yesterday. I tried different bait combos, varied scents, switched up my leader lengths and everything. I talked to two guys at the Daisy boat launch that limited out on Friday, but only managed two fish on Saturday. Just the way it goes sometimes.

I have been wanting to get down there too, but on google map it looks like the W mill rd has a turn out/parking spot, and then it ends shortly at a cabin or house/structure? where do you park and do you walk around the point to fish toward the pens, or anywhere along the bank is fine?
