After getting my first hunting season under my belt here in Washington, I'm thinking about going to try for one of the Timber Companies. Anyone familiar with Global Campbell or Weyehaeuser (Northern Cascades) areas? Looked at both on Onxmaps and Google Earth. Both have some pretty decent looking areas. Like the fact that you can stay over night in Weyehaeuser and they have multiple locations. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave

I used to live up that way and a buddy got some of the timber permits a few years back. It defiantly gives you a lot of ground to cover but for the money i think you would be better off buying gas and scouting non permit areas. There is quite a bit of country up there that is gated but you don't need a permit for, i would look at if i were you. I bought a timber company permit last year for a different area and there was way more people in the permit area than the ground we used to hunt.

I've had the weyerhauser pass for the past few years. If you have any specific questions shoot me a PM, but since this is the elk forum I assume you want to know about the elk in the timber areas up north, of which I have only been up to those areas once each to check them out so I don't have a lot of info on the elk. I usually hang around the granite falls and highway 2 blocks.
