Title: Fox trapping?
Post by: Mtnhunter5 on January 23, 2019, 04:31:56 PM: This is my first season trapping and i was asked by a family friend to try to trap a Fox that is getting his chickens.

I know getting a dog in a live trap is a challenge, even though i saw that coyote posted earlier today, i was curious if anyone has any experience getting foxes in cage traps. Any advice or expertise would be greatly appreciated!

Post by: gramps on January 23, 2019, 04:47:33 PM: I caught one a few yrs. ago on a nuisance complaint. I used dry cat food because that was what the homeowner feed her pets. Set the cage under the deck.

If their around people than they will eat people food. I caught one with fresh chicken eggs and I have also caught them with both dry and can cat and dog food.
Try the egg first and let us know.
You don't need a big cage trap. I used a raccoon size, 10"x12"x32"
