I'm looking at taking my son and possibly daughter for a camping weekend on a lake for the opener. Any ideas on good campsites on western WA lakes? The fishing doesn't have to be epic, more looking for a fun experience.
Thanks.

How is the trout fishing there? I've been up there two or three times for sockeye.

Not sure.
But the little overflow lake on the west end use to be good fishing off the bank. Also Shannon is near by and Grandy lake is on the way with small campground there too.

Might be a winner. The KOA at Grandy is a big hit with that huge jump pillow thing and pancake breakfasts.

Offut Lake south of Olympia, book a spot at the Offut Lake Resort. Good fishing from the resort dock, they have small cabins, trailer spaces and tent spaces. I fish from the dock 6 or 7 times a year and it's worth the trip. :twocents:
