Want to take kids up there to go fishing, take the trailer and hope they catch some.
Never fished or camped up there.
Any tips? When? Where? What to use?
Thanks

It’s awesome for camping if you are hitting the lakes pretty much anything will do I’ve had trout hit the bare hook in those ponds I recommend a small hook and some powerbait for the most success, the lakes open up March 1st and they will all be stocked and ready to go.

Rainbow Lake was just rebuilt. It’s deeper and offers way better fishing access.
As has been said, all the lakes offer decent fishing for the kids.
Most of the lakes are stocked by the end of February.
Curl lake is a later opener. Maybe 4/15?
Bring your binoculars and have fun.

Yes I agree bring your binoculars good chance you will see the bighorns around this time of the year.
-
Whats the camping situation? Are they paid reservation sites or first come first served? Any facilities?
-
There’s an established campground, The Last Resort.
Or there are several first come first serve public campgrounds.
Tons of space available.

K, kids picked out some power bait last night. Today we will get trailer out and get ready for next weekend.

If you have time to drive around and head down past Wooten, will you check out snow and mud levels in camping spots that would fit a travel trailer, the gravel ones or any of the pull off in the woods. We are hoping to head down the weekend after you, don't really care to be by the ponds and would like to go past them some. Just don't want to go too far down and get in a situation where turning around the truck and trailer would not work because of snow.

I hear ya. My brother is going a day before us to find that out. Yeah we'll look

How'd it go down there @n_mathews13
-
I was there this weekend everything looks clear all the way past Watson lake the days have been in the 50s-60s so I wouldn’t imagine much snow anymore.

Is the first part of camp Wooten / tucannon park a free, pull in and set up travel trailer camping area? Looking at the map, cross the bridge and turn left instead of turning right and heading to Wooten

I only went as far as Walton also, kids kept me busy. I can’t imagine snow being a issue. Was real warm Sunday

Once you pass the last resort store pretty much everything is first come first serve as far as camping goes
