Grinder is just like Tinder. You can swipe left or right but also rate people.....I stick with at least a 7 or better.

pretty sure it refers to "lbs per minute" they can grind.
although if you've ever ground meat, you know there are many other factors.

That number refers to the grinder plate and cutting blade size. For example, a #8 grinder uses 2.5" diameter grinder plates. A #12 uses 2.75" grinder plates. Essentially, the bigger the number, the bigger the grinder plate it uses. Google "meat grinder sizes" for more info.

Bigger the number bigger the plate. I think the throat size gets bigger too as the plate gets bigger. So in theory the bigger the number the more meat it can process at one time.

Both correct,Bigger number bigger plate bigger hole to feed thru and more horse power more cost.

I started out with the Cabelas deluxe it was not enough jumped to the 1 horse carnivore and am very happy.

Another reason for me to get the carnivore was the attatchment's.i love the cuber, and jerky cutter.

We got the same grinder,  I don't have the cuber or jerky cutter but I have the tomato juicer and I love that, made a lot of sauce.
You have to feed the pulp through a bunch of times to get all the juice out, but same with any juicer I've found.

I've got at least a dozen hogs through it, plus a steer and who knows how much game meat as it's been lent out a a couple times for hogs, deer and bear.

no more loaning it out though I said enough of that get your own!   :chuckle:

I clicked on this thread just to see how long it took for somebody to make a reference to the Grinder App. :chuckle:

My thought is that the experts on the grinder app should be explaining themselves more than the guys asking about the meat grinder.   :dunno:

I just purchased a #22 stainless thru walmart. Its an off the wall brand but whoa...... It claimes 340# per hour and I believe it. Ground 25# of venison in less than 10 minutes. Cost $289 including delivery. Excellent machine. Also easy to clean but very heavy.

Just don't grind your meat before you take it to Nile meats to have it made into Pep sticks.   You think they are persnickity. LOL
