Title: Outboard Shop Recomendations
Post by: BIGMIKE on March 07, 2019, 11:49:46 AM
Greetings! :hello: Fishing season is upon us!  :IBCOOL:I tried starting the old BW Montauk 17 last weekend and I can't get the old trusty 1987 70 hp Evinrude to turn over, it might be due for a tune up. I am looking for a boat shop recommendations near Puyallup, WA. that can check it out. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Evinrude?  Try Tom's in Oly if others are backlogged

I like to tinker and learn.  Plus outboard mechanics are not cheap.  If you have the tools, youtube can walk you through most tune up issues.

If it wont turn over a tune up is not the problem. Its either seized up. Battery, electrical or starter problems.

toms in olympia is the best for older evinrudes or johsons. but newer outboards nixons marine in lakewood is the best, five star rated been in business for 60 years for a reason.

@BigMike run it down to my place in Lacey, I'm a career OB tech and have no desire to charge members  If it wont turn over its something simple like a bad connection or solenoid etc. So7unds like a 5 minute diagnostic.
