Anyone specialize in moles and in the Sammamish area? Let me know. Elderly couple needs a hand.

You do know it is illegal don't you? While other members of the forum seem to be OK with bragging about their prowess at trapping moles I doubt anyone with a business is going to put themselves in the cross hairs of enforcement by putting that out on the forum. DFW may turn a blind eye to homeowners but businesses that have trapped moles for hire have been ticketed.
-
How do people legally get rid of moles?
-
Legally? They don't!

Human feces.

Bruce, I was expecting a WCO to reply if there was one in that area that handled moles. Are you saying they cannot be nuisance trapped?

There are no legal traps I know of that will catch moles. You cannot get a Special Trapping permit for any traps that are mole traps. If you are successfully trapping moles you are committing a Gross Misdemeanor.
I know of two WCOs convicted under this statute. Besides the fine you will lose your WCO permit if convicted.
Even at that, I know there are some that do it. I would not expect them to post about it though.
-
Yep, never really thought through the legality of the mole traps for WCO work. Knew that guys had got in trouble but equated it to not having the permits in place.
I have seen foot holds work for them, but it was a frustrating endeavor. I bet those Koros could be successful.

How many times have you seen private home owners ticketed for trapping moles? Have you elderly friends get a trap on Amazon like that was talked about in an earlier thread and get rid of them. :twocents:

Yes there are legal traps for moles.
It's the body gripping ones that are illegal.
Anyways you can get the illegal ones at any hardware store. I guess people from Oregon are buying them :P

Which ones you talking about? i'd be interested in a Washington legal Mole trap that is effective.
-
This is a law that it's never going to be enforced it's only there to make bunny Huggers feel good about themselves. Go buy yourself a gopher Hawk Kit from Ace Hardware and kill all the moles you can seeout there.
-
That's NOT what Bruce is saying guys, he's saying a person running a business WILL get jammed up. He's not talking about individual homeowners. If a WCO advertisaed mole removal, he would 100% pop up on their radar and would get a citation and would lose his WCO License.

I have never heard of a home owner getting a citation for this. WCOs I have. Would you advertise on a public forum you were breaking the law? A lot more than a fine at stake here for a WCO. They could lose their livelihood.

It is technically conceivable you could use a cage trap. Never heard of it being done successfully. Clue us in if you know of a legal method that works.

Perhaps this is the answer. :chuckle:
Haha!

I had excellent luck with these: https://www.traplineproducts.com/ . The only drawback is you can't tell if you have caught one without digging the trap up.
This year this is my new weapon: https://www.amazon.com/Gopherhawk-Trapping-Wedge-Probe-Tool/dp/B00KXE6RKK/ref=sr_1_17?keywords=mole+trap&qid=1553801536&s=gateway&sr=8-17

LOL Celion Dion!!
Pegasus, both of those are illegal to use in WA.
-
I have not seen one for a long time, but hardware stores used to sell big smoke bombs to shove in the hole(s). Being Washington I am guessing that is against the law as well. If they are legal, I sorry for bring it to the attention of Sideshow Bob, and Zero Chance President Jay.

Most the traps for sale at your friendly hardware store are illegal in Washington. When they start fining the stores for selling illegal traps maybe then I will worry about those poor endangered abused moles.
-
Not talking about individuals, talking about WCOs advertising and doing it for a business.
-
LOL Celion Dion!!
The only down side is on the west side you may end up with a backyard full of people with glasses of wine and Brie Cheese.

It's completely legal to own them and sell them, just not legal to use them.
I am sure Sideshow Bob would get interested if they were black and had a bayonet lug.

That....... is awesome :chuckle:

I was really hoping he was going to light the acetylene from his calcium carbide. There are those propane blasters where you fill the tunnels with gas then light and lift the turf off your yard.

Here's another thought. Looks awfully green might be the westside. :chuckle:

You can’t touch the wildlife. That is felony harassment.
