I just bought one of these on the used market for my 12 year old to hunt with this fall. anyone have any info on them? its clearly an economy grade gun but it should be fine for the kid.

well we went and shot it today, just fired some patched round balls for fun and it seemed to shoot ok. I was amazed at the lack of recoil.

The lack of recoil is a big part of what makes shooting black powder fun for me. I'm a recoil weenie, but my muzzleloader doesn't bother me at all even with hunting loads. With light loads I can shoot all day and enjoy it, can't do that with a high power modern rifle.

I had good luck with a Traditions gun for a few years when inline was just getting popular. They grouped well out of the box. They seemed like a good value for the price. Sold both of mine for about $50 each five years after buying them. One of them a buddy has and kills elk almost every year still.
