I've been out of the steam fishing for trout game for quite a few years now. I really enjoyed that type of fishing for the solitude and those little guys can be scrappy. Looking at the regs it says that all rainbow and cutthroat must be released. What other type of trout would there be? Specifically I'm speaking about the upper Lewis River drainage near Mt. Adams. I'm good with releasing fish but would like to have the option to keep one for the pan from time to time.
Thanks

Yeah, hit the high lakes out there. Lots of good lakes for various varieties of trout. You can keep em too. Eastern Brook there is no limit, the rest (except Bull and Dolly Varden) the limit is 5 total. Eastern Brook don't count toward the limit. Forget the streams and go with the lakes if you want trout to eat. There are places you can keep trout on the Lewis system, but navigating that probably isn't worth it.
