Elk season has been over for months , I'm finnally able to force myself into the reality of the truth , and put it on this jikkerbox of hey look at me do stuff broadcasting network ,well here goes,,,,,I didn't hunt this year,but planned a trip up to meet longtime hunting buds up at rimrock for the cerimonial act of the moving pumpkin patch Hubble , missle launcher campaign ,I arrived on the fourth day ,I knew one guy got the unlimited ,lottery award tag , and was excited for him , as I arrived the badge branding , gun totem , pleated pants , no it all officer was pulling out of the road that goes into our spot , he gave me that mental license plate recording wave and I arrived at the camp , things seemed kinda quiet , Wich didn't add up cuz I knew Will was there ,I asked hey any lottery winners in camp ? He said nope ! Not really , I walked around Steve's giant crap called a Ford Raptor and there it was ! A beautiful 3×4 bull hanging in a tree , figgered there should be some celebration around the fire , but Will didn't have his jack Daniels in one hand and America's #1 cash crop smoldering in his other hand thank goodness he doesn't hunt.Gaylord who had the lottery tag was sitting by the fire stairinf at the ground , I new something was up .Evidently fish n feathers fell out of a tree after they hung the critter and administered his array of secretly incriminateing questions and then inspected the animal , he informed Gaylord that he may have a unconsumible carcass ,he took three samples , got contact info . And rushed off to the state labrotory ,I took one look at the mouth of that creature and didn't need a million tax payers to sponsor a lab crew to no that this is a sick animal, I suddenly was stricken by the somber feel of camp that day ,I no that Gaylord had done all the hard hunting all his life , just like I had , and devistation set in me just like the day I was told I need to start my cancer battle ,I new the day was comeing but I didn't think my hunting days were so close to ending as I had grown to no them. Fees ,lottery's ,crooks , creeps , crowds , big ugly trucks ,Jeep clubs , coderoy camoes , woodsy idiots , fires ,and last but not least , Christian rock shows and now the need for desease inhanced scopes , so we will no if the critter is eatable before launching a missle into it . I left the next day , but the depression , devistation and saddness was overwhelming and I found my self parked by a fruit stand in Naches ,after all the crap a guy goes through to get behind a missle launcher , only to find out his lifetime achiement has been full filled , but with desease !!! Biggest decision I've made in my hunting life is to say it's just not a good investment anymore , and I won't be going out hunting anymore , I have sold my wairs and I'm starting to race r.c. trucks , the only desease there is the loosing , I no folks are GUNNA skiff at my decision and say hey u just need to get up high enuff to get away or something wimsical like that but noatter how much of a superior hunter that war inside your head makes u believe your the best , that critter you and your family are consumeing may just consume you , it's just another giant thing to add to the list of ingredients that makes us all wanna be hunters , cuz if deseased meat isn't a deturant go kill something , but don't forget your lab coat !!! And peetree dish ,I'm very saddened and devistated .

Good read Cryder. I understud most of it. Heck of thing to have happen. The one thing I will say is with any food, store bought, restaurant served, caught from the big blue or killed from the deep woods....it all has a chance of making ya sick. Do it not always for the food but for the experience and the chance to enjoy the outdoors. If hunting was always about the food a lot of people would starve.

I hear you, Cryder, we are facing a lot of new challenges as American hunters, including wildlife disease. But the hunting community helped turn things around for American game populations once (1880s-1950s), and we can do it again, no matter what the specific challenge is. RMEF passed the 6 million acre conservation mark a couple years ago, for example. There's a lot of work ahead, as America creeps towards 350 million human beings (third of a billion people...). But with hard work I think we can craft a brighter future for American game animals and for hunting. So don't give up. We need your voice (and you do have a unique style which we all appreciate- I mean that :) ).
Also, what was the exact disease or infection that made this elk inedible?

I've been told wolves only eat the sick and injured animals, so disease won't be an issue in the near future.

I'm not done getting out in the forests , for sure , I've always been about getting out there , heck I drove 3 hours to get there and I didn't have a weapon at all , as for the future of hunting ,,, sure allot is being done to save our heritage , the problem is exactly what has been mentioned here, it's the fact that human population is to blame and will be the reason it continues to get worse , you see Lewis , there is to many foolish clowns out there that frankly Scarlet don't give a dam or just to brain dead to care , the problem is the stupid and ignerant are also multiplying , I'll be out there but I will be armed with a Hubble scope mounted on a camera lens , I don't think Mr. Pleated pants no it all can get me into court for that , or stop me and ask all his incriminateing questions either , to me it just isn't a good investment anymore , I new that couple years ago but reality slapped me into the reality of all of this !As for the ifected carcass , all I no or want to no is it's a big word , and the king of the forests have eaten it by now , Gaylord took the rack home , but to this day it feels nothing like a trophy to him or me , just a sad reminder.

They should have given him another tag. My friend in Idaho shot a moose with worms in the meat got another tag. :dunno:

Saying or spelling will never change the facts ! I graduated with almost the highest grade point average in my class , I also won the g.s.l. football championship twice , and I was told by school detector that I was a great example , but nevermind my schooling records cuz the woodsy creeps and criminals don't need school to ruin our lands and opertunities forget my tactfulness for crap sakes and take a criminal to jail y don't u !! Jeeeeeeze ! I'm just to old to care about fitting onto a chalk board anymore , I just want the piece of ignerant peice of crap that stole my game camera to be flunked out of society , and the group of well studied crooks that raped our camp site to go to H. E. Double hockey sticks !! How's that for spelling , I'll bet u don't care , just like me. 😂🤣😎but most importantly u get my point I'm sure , spelling won't save our hertage a board with a nail in it will get even a ignerant criminals attention , heck I'll bet they will even spell there name right if u ask them

O boy ! Do I ! I worked with a guy at Spokane's veterans home , he had one of those senseless 20 room homes ,I just refuse to understand anybody that thinks the biggest house wins wake the hell up ! Your wasteing energy you take up to much global space for crap sakes ! Expecting a barax to be needed when the red coats clear the hill ? Jeeeeeze come on will ya nobody cares oh turkeys on the elk board , here goes ,I was helping my co-worker from the hospital , o ya ! No I was not a patient then and still not now , but the jury is still out on if I should be , I here . But when I was helping this big house owner put up his new compleately unnessasary garage , all the time I spent out there was ABSUGULOOOOLY insane ! I couldn't count how many beard draggers there was but I new I was comeing back in April for sure , I built my blind way down the canyon behind his mation , 5 days before the opener. I'm telling u guys it felt like I was building yep u geussed it ,, a popsicle stand , it was freezing , or I was ignerantly under dressed , but that wood b addmitting I made a mistake sooooooo ,,, opening morning I in that blind before daylight planning for a long day ,Wich means oange juice and a Snickers wood get me to the end of the day , I hoped ,anyways I waited for a hour r so till I made my first call , henryetta and Jake my decoys were hermedically place on the wheat field that bordered the weirdo next door , I gave a big scratch on the slate and I was just about dealing with crappy pants seriuosely a huge gobble lit up the silent morning like a car wreck ! But I new I herd something else but I figgered it was a deer or a cougar creeping up on me but more importantly there was a brute talking to me 40 yards away to my left ,that huge ugly bird stepped over the niebors fence and attacked little Jake , at that time I heard this thing behind me again so figger I better take a good look and hope not to spook the bird that is already in rage ,didn't c anything and the noise stopped , so I waited for the neck stretch shot and boom ! Dropped like a sack of taters , as I'm getting the bird and decoys in my back pack some stupid creep yells at me from ten yards away , hey you put that bird down ! The police are on there way ,I immediately looked at this piece of crap and said hey snneeking up on a hunter like that your lucky there not being followed by a ambulance you idiot , he tells me I'm trespassing and he's pressing charges !! What a idiot , while he's bitchn at me he's standing on my buddies land , I showed this hey look what I own creep that me or the dead Tom was on our side of the fence , he just walked Away twords my buddies house ! I finnally get back to the senseless house and the sherrif my buddy and the creep next door are talking about something besides my turkey episode , evedently my buddies place is on this idiots property and he and I need to leave ,,,,, O M G !!?? Me and the sherrif looked over this huge bird and I waved good buy to the creep next door as the sherriff car carried him away , I geuss he threatened me my buddy and his wife if we didn't leave , he made the bright mistake of threating us with a shotgun , funny thing is he sold his property to the nicest people you could ever meet and I end up with twice the land to hunt BIG UGLY BIRDS ,thanks idiot !!!

We'll no 😂😂😂😂 still cracken up from ignerant me 😂😂that is also very entertaining ,I don't go to that injon station anymore on the way to fishing , I always end up with crap that is uneatable , like cookies cakes n pies all of it is disgusting , I all ways remove the rapper and deposit it in the coyote ditch , happened like three times so I tell my brother to get his gas before he drags me out of bed at 5am , crap always looks good but I kick myself all the way to the fish processing station , like my surgeon says , if it comes in a box or a can or it's frozen , not only don't eat it don't even by it , this is why my garden takes up the whole back yard
