Title: Camper bath question
Post by: grimace on June 10, 2019, 06:31:54 PM: I'm looking at getting a camper and getting rid of our travel trailer. One thing I seem to be getting hung up on is a wet bath. I just don't care for the idea. I get that space is limited but, brushing my teeth, taking a dump and a shower all in the same 2x3 area....

So, I'm asking those that have experience with both types of baths, does a wet bath suck?

The primary use for the camper is hunting, with the occasional outing with the wife.

But

It’s better than no bath

Considering you only use it for a couple minutes (to bathe at least) its better than nothing and considerably better than washing in a creek.

In a small camper you can use all the space you can get and dry bath take sup a good chunk of space. I camped a lot at a ski resort so the outside shower was never used.

Who wants to go outside and take a shower in the mud and rain ?

We just got rid of our Eagle Cap that had both and it never bothered me one bit. You're not in there for a long period of time anyhow. Your wife will like it better than you will........

How was the Bigfoot , trouble free?

Post by: HUNTINCOUPLE on June 10, 2019, 09:03:43 PM: Weve used both in and out showers alot in our Northern Lite 10'2" 2003. Family of four. Kids now 4 and 9. I put together a EMT frame for the outside shower. Hang tarps around it with clips. Also tapped into the outdoor shower head with 3/8 tubing which is ran over inside the wall tent for showering during archery elk hunting.

Oh how I hate Monkey Butt. I guess what what ever it takes to avoid that...

Post by: Grit dog on June 23, 2019, 11:31:15 PM: Obviously a dry bath is more luxurious, but in a TC, space is at a premium and in our AF camper, the difference between wet/dry bath is the difference between having a pantry or no pantry.
Personally it doesn't bother me/the family. Just being able to take a duker on your own toilet that doesn't stink and actually take a hot shower makes the inconvienece not so bad.
Plus, you can be efficient and actually sht, shower and shave at the same time!
The biggest issue with it, is its so small, sitting On the toilet, my knees hit the wall in front of me. Makes it hard to get the right angle of attack for all operations, lol!

Seriously though, if I had a long bed truck and an 11-12' camper, it would have a dry bath.

Post by: NorseNW on June 24, 2019, 05:14:19 AM: Only our first camper but we did a lot of looking and comparing before deciding. We have an Arctic Fox 1150 with a wet bath. It was a no brainer for us. The dry bath looks nicer and sounds nicer but you lose space in the more used area of the camper and the shower is very small. The dry bath just seemed much more cramped than the wet bath. Takes a little planning on to make sure no one needs to use the bathroom while the other is showering but works just fine. Only so much you can pack into an 11 foot box but sure beats a tent and love the convenience and mobility of the camper. Enjoy the journey.

Picked up 8.6 Adventure camper yesterday, it certainly is going to be interesting going from a almost 30' TT to the camper.
