Title: Orcas area fishing
Post by: Stein on July 10, 2019, 11:36:08 AM
Our family will be spending some time on the north side of Orcas and will be going after salmon, shrimp and crab.  I've never fished the islands, but did as much research on the internet and by talking to a few guys as I could.

So far, for salmon I have Lawrence Point, Point Doughty and Point Disney.  Chinook will hopefully still be open and I'm not sure on the timing of coho in the area or if it is an option.

For shrimp, I have info about Waldron and Park Bay.

I was hoping someone on here could either confirm those places or help point me in the right direction.  I'm hoping to keep the runs somewhat short - 5 miles or so from the West Beach area, but am open to slightly longer runs if worth the effort.

Any help is greatly appreciated, the family is really looking forward to the trip.  We are well equipped to fish, we just haven't been up there before.
