Title: Potholes
Post by: 270Flat on July 12, 2019, 11:20:07 AM
Headed out this weekend with the boat. I have plans on hitting structure for smallmouth bass and the damn area for walleye and bass. Not really a familiar area only done it from the bank during college. Anybody have any input on areas to try out. I checked out The Mardon resort site and got some good information. I’m packing my youngest son (9) along for the trip.
Thanks

We were hitting trout off the mouth of the Winchester in 15-35’ last week.

Got out and fished here for the first time in ages. Hit the dunes for bass and got a real nice largemouth right off the bat Saturday early. Then we went out to the dam and fishing was tough as the wind kept us off the drift. Headed back to slow death troll crab creek. We ended up with a mixed bag. Couple real nice bluegill. A real nice walleye, couple perch and several catfish. Good weekend of fishing

Nice, sounds like way better than the best day of work.

Thanks for the report.  That wind on the damn can wreak havoc.

Fishing the back side of points can be really productive when that wind kicks up.

Without an actual measurement cause he flopped out I’d say right around 21”
