Title: GMU 360 Bethel
Post by: whtbuck on July 24, 2019, 05:12:06 PM
Been a few years since I hunted the 360.Drove up for a look from our summer camp on Saturday and noticed some new roads.Lots of wash outs I guess. After finding the 1503,my intended destination met with friends that were heading over to look at the Lk McDaniel area.Anyone on here know if there are lots of old camps in there where folks have been going year after year? How does the forest service or wdfw feel about setting camps 2 weeks before the season feel in that area.I'm a west side Rosie hunter that made the eastside switch 6 years ago and am freaking lost over there.Hunting blacktail and Roosevelts has been our way many many years..

I’d stay where you are.
Not even going muzzy this year. Spent the whole season there last year. 7 of us.
Dawn till dark. Saw one spike three days before the season. Same year before that.

Mc Daniels lake road was washed out when we were there last year.

There are some cows and big bull but without the tag what good are they?

Road into McDaniel is now fixed, it is no longer washed out.

Deer are sparse, elk you really need to work at to see a spike. We saw 4 in total last year. Talked to a DNR officer that had a trailer towed because he hadn't seen anyone even show up or contact him after leaving his card on the door window for an undisclosed amount of time.

The recent forest fires, in the area, have prompted the forest service to prioritize access. Fighting fires from the air is much more expensive than fighting on the ground.

Isn't Lake McDaniel in the Bumping District?  I hunted there a few years ago.  The bull permit people did well.  A lot of deep and steep once you get off the road.

they were not hunting Bethel then. They were very much into the bumping unit.

To clarify McDonald Lake is in the Bumping unit not Bethel.
