Title: Surf Fishing
Post by: ctwiggs1 on July 29, 2019, 02:07:09 PM
Who does it?  Any tips?  I can't believe I've lived here my entire life and never fished the surf.

I'm headed out in late September to an area near Ocean Shores and figured I'd give it a whirl.  Do you just toss some lead with some shrimp and see what takes??

Thanks for any tips - pretty excited to try another fishing opportunity!

Weight at the bottom usually a couple ounces with 2 hooks tied above it about 12 inches apart.  Make sure that the lead off the hooks is only a couple inches long.  I like clam necks and/or gulp sand worms.

Yes red tail perch.  Look up Pk Yi on YouTube.  The guy is a surfperch fishing machine.
