Title: 418 quality archery
Post by: Rainier core on August 04, 2019, 02:24:50 PM
Planning on getting on spi and scouting as soon as i can. Ive been hiking around baker lake seen a few decent bulls but very few. Anyone here hunt the Weyerhaeuser area east of shannon lake? Wondering if its worth the walkin permit to scout the area.

Yes it is my bad so i thought it was closer to the lake and got boundary lines mixed up. Is it still worth getting the walk in for the blue mountain area?

There's a couple herds in the blue mtn area but  a walk in permit doesnt make much sense to me. I've had a weyerhauser vehicle permit for the past few years and dont see much reason to stay anywhere near the gate. They get pressured pretty hard just across the street on "the dike". Have you checked to see if sierra pacific will give you a key for the crown mainline?

Yes i get the key on saturday and plan to head in to start scouting spi mainline. Just bought the walk-in in case i cross over from dnr for a back up area. The vehicle permit was sold out before they did the draw.
