Title: Doe killing a fawn
Post by: optic2 on August 28, 2019, 01:23:33 AM: My mother in law saw a doe kill a fawn by stomping on it. I know does kick fawns when they want them to go off on their own. But this doe stomped and kicked the fawn until it was dead. What causes this?

It's also possible the fawn wouldn't get out of bed and talked back to her mother when she should've just been a good fawn and did what she was told. I used to have five brothers and sisters. Now I have four. Don't talk back to mom.

Post by: ThurstonCokid on August 28, 2019, 08:17:11 PM: I once watched a herd of elk in the toutle area kick and stomp at one smaller cow elk that had very bad hoof rot compared to the rest. I’d guess some type of sickness or something that may attract predators?

I can't tell you how many times I've responded to "How can you shoot a beautiful deer?" with "I only shoot ugly deer". The looks and reactions are priceless.
