Title: Harvest Moon Impact
Post by: TheDudeAbides on September 12, 2019, 10:19:36 AM: Anyone out there think the Harvest Moon this weekend will impact the elk hunting? I'm chasing after cows in the Wenatchee forest and am a little worried.

Post by: 7mmfan on September 12, 2019, 10:33:23 AM: All it means is they may bed down earlier and get up a little later in the evening. It also means that there is usually a spike in mid day activity so going back to camp for a nap at 10:30 or 11:00 isn't a great idea.

I attended an elk hunting seminar held by a representative from a well know agency, and his response was be sure to be in the woods at sunrise on a full moon night, because for whatever reason elk seem to be active at that time.
