Title: Feds propose 15,000+ sq. miles of West Coast as protected habitat for Orcas

https://www.kuow.org/stories/sewage-plant-s-backup-pumps-fail-lead-to-2-1-m-gallon-spill

It’s an article from July, but the numbers blew my mind.  4.6 million gallons of untreated wastewater per day flush into Puget Sound under normal operations at wastewater treatment plants.  1.7 BILLION gallons total in 2017 under normal operations (not counting spills)… and it’s gotten worse since then!

Instead of fixing the wastewater runoff problem which would cost everybody a lot of $, the feds want to shut down fishing up and down the west coast and regulate all coastal activities. (notice that they sneakily included the liquefied natural gas plant in Tacoma, as well as alternative energy sources like tidal wave energy as bullet points for things they want to ban.)

Fixing this Orca problem will take investment and sacrifice from everyone.  It’s much easier to blame clean energy sources and fishermen.  How can we get off our dependence on burning fossil fuels, (which is a contributor to the warm water blob killing everything off the coast) if we aren’t developing alternative sources of clean energy?

City of Seattle doesn't want to pay for it, their elected are more about talking and suing trump.  Meanwhile, here in Arlington we had to put in a $27M plant for 19,000 residents, some of which are on septic.  For some reason, the environmental groups aren't suing Seattle over the illegal discharge, maybe because they live there and don't want to pay?

Anyway, back to the left coast slactivism.  I've been telling you guys the orca is the spotted owl of the sea.

That said, it isn't the feds doing it, it is the environmental groups suing the feds and the court imposing orders.

I have been calling the Oceans and lakes "sewer" for years.  People look at me funny, "What ya call it that for?" I respond because it is.  The $ and Politics of it is Salinsky type.  Create a crisis and or never let a crisis go to waste to further your agenda.  So this is what we get.  Politics and policies destined to fail.  Salmon is the issue and we all know why they are dying.  Several reasons like overharvest, pollution and probably ocean temps.  Cant stop Native treaty rights, cant stop pollution from Gov and large corps. so who is left?  Yup, bend over and hand over the wallet.
