Title: 26 Nosler
Post by: bustedoldman on September 20, 2019, 07:08:51 AM
I have a chance to get a M48 Liberty almost new at a unreal price, so i'm looking for pro's and con's of it. Thanks!

I know nothing about it. I would buy it and if you don't like it, it sounds like you can turn it around for at least what you paid for it, and maybe make some money on it.

I know someone with an M48 Patriot in 28 nosler and he loves it. Another friend has a Browning in 26 nosler and he loves it. I love the ballistics of that 26. If someone offered me a smashing deal on one I would pick it up

If you have access to a M48 at a big discount, grab it.  Those things rarely sell for discounts.  Even on here when one comes up in the Classifieds, it's still at a healthy price.   26 Nosler and 28 Nosler are great calibers.

Pro's: It's a fast 26 caliber cartridge so it shoots flat way out there without the recoil of the 30 cal magnums.

Cons: It's a fast 26 caliber and it's got Nosler stamped on the brass. That means hard on barrels and expensive brass.

If it's a killer deal I'd pick it up. Worst case scenario, you don't like it and sell it for a small profit or just what you have into it.

If almost new means less than 400 rounds then pick it up. You can always rebarrel later when needed.

I've got it in a 28 and I love it.
Picky on loads, but it'll shoot good after some time.
