I contacted the WDFW and they said thanks for the info and no other response. The fish look like a kid with bad acne on the skin. Not something I want to feed my wife or my self.

Thank you for the heads up. I don't think we'll be back up there again this year, but will certainly camp there a few times next year.
If you want to camp you should hurry. The host will close the gates the end of the month.

Thanks for the info.We've camped at Pierre lk many times over the years for the modern firearm whitetail opener.Only fished it once.A game warden asked me one year what I was fishing for and I told him what ever bites.To my regret I should of looked at the regs first.He said there are several restrictions on the lake depending on what I caught with the wrong gear I could be fined.Haven't got a line wet in that lake since.
Other than the lead weight restriction(common in many WA waters) Pierre Lake is year-round and basic statewide regs. :dunno: Did he get any more detailed?

it wasn't Mr Hood for sure.He was pretty good to us over the years.I have heard some folks say the same about him though.Haven't seen a game warden up there since him.Just park rangers giving us a hard time about not having a tarp over our animals hanging.Their reason,"some people that are just camping are offended"the Ranger told us...hahahahaYa same, he checked me a good bit especially when duck hunting over the years, finally got the the point he'd say: "oh its you, how ya doing?" and wouldnt even ask to see a license anymore or he'd see it was my truck and keep going. He was one of those sneaky guys lol
Then Weatherman, heard bad about him too but he never gave me a hard time either, didnt even ask for license most the time.

I drove in to the launch/fishing dock 2 weeks ago. Iced over but don't know how thick. Didn't try it.

Last winter they had ran a plow truck in to the launch sort of. I wonder what will cure the Salmincola parasites on the fish? Since the governing body didn't respond to the emails. Is it something they have to treat with rotenone? That will screw up the kokanee.

There's still some in there, but nothing like the days you're talking about! I brought home a lot of crappie outta that lake from Morton's dock.

We were renting there second home for the week.
We'd just gotten there and were unpacking our gear for the week,
I hadn't seen my son (4 years old at the time) in a while & started searching - found him in about 5 feet of water out a ways from their dock.
I immediately jumped in & pulled a lifeless body out, to a screaming wife & older daughter.
Bob's wife heard the commotion & sprung into action, administering CPR (she was a nurse).
She revived him & after a long warm-up period (hypothermia) he was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Colville.
My wife spent the night with him at the hospital, and my daughter & I headed back to the lake for the night.
The next morning before we went back to Colville I was able to retrieve my glasses from the lake.
He was released with no permanent damage, just a couple puckered families - us and the Morton's.
We ran into them several years back during Downriver Days in Ione, and my son got to meet the person that saved his life.
What an experience!
