I was muzzy hunting for deer yesterday and I bumped into a couple of elk at around 30 yards. There were 5 cows and one raghorn 3x3 bull that spooked and crashed off about 25 yards . Just for fun, I made a cow call"ish" sound (I didn't have my call with me) to see if I could get a response. What I got was a larger 5x5 that I didn't initially see. Just for fun I tried thrashing some brush to see if I would get a response, which I did.

I had a stare down with the bull for about 10 minutes. He initially came in HOT, thrashing and making a bunch of noise. I took the video about 5 minutes in to our stare down as he was starting to get bored with me. I need to start bringing a better camera out with me.

Muzzy elk can't come soon enough! The down side is that I ended up pulling an "action hero" style shoulder roll down a hill while I was out yesterday and got a little bruised up. :chuckle: I had to take today to recover so I can head back to work tomorrow.

Looks like you found a decent spot. They should still be talking for the muzzy opener.
