Title: Scotch Creek hunting areas
Post by: bornhunter on September 29, 2019, 07:34:08 PM
Just got back from checking out some areas I have never been to before. Great looking country. Came across Scotch Creek outside near Conconelly. Is there any upland bird hunting in these areas or are they mostly for deer? Saw a covey of birds land at quite a distance and couldnt tell if they were huns or chukars or maybe sharptails?  Were not quail.

You can find all three of those birds in the area as well as quail and a few other types of grouse. We have taken a few birds north of the Scotch Creek area in the Sinlahekin(sp) valley. Seen plenty of chukar and huns from there to 97 as well.

I may have to give it a shot. Long ways to drive for me though. Is it a register to hunt kind of set up? I didnt see anywhere to park or any entry areas at all?
