Close to or south of the power lines? Coleman, Cooke, Colockum, etc.
-
I was out there last weekend and no, didn't see any but by next week I would expect there to be some after the pressure. Dunno why you would care though because everything real low is private.
-
He would want to know if he is a master hunter. I would call the huntmaster, he'll hook you up with the latest info, also most every land owner there wants the elk off their land so bang on some doors, and yes they are there. in the last month my pards and I have taken 6 from the same area.

I heard about two idiots in Coleman Creek right under the power lines shooting four cows...from the road, in thier truck, and at 600 yds. They were (were is the key word) master hunters. That stunt cost them the certificate. They had no idea about one of the cows...until they almost ran it over with their ATV, which was off trail.
The warden paid them a visit and made sure they loaded up all the meat into their Mazda pickup- then they drove the ATV on top of the meat to go back to Spokane! I'm shocked he let them take it :bash:
We don't need idiots like that messing things up for the rest of us. >:(

WTF! >:( There is supposedly has an issue with the elk population up there. Cows were taken away from archery for the last 4 years, why the heck are they allowing master hunters to kill cow elks. It is ridiculous. After reading this is just makes me so mad and shows how irriresponsible people are. If the famrers are complaining than put a system to give others a chance.

the program is already in place........just do the work and take the test.

I heard there is a huge waiting list for the AHE test, is this true? After hearing about them being able to take cows, it really made me kick myself for not taking the test a long time ago.
-
I have never heard of any waiting list. I have heard that there is a hold right now as they are revamping the entry requirements, there will be a limit on the length of time you have to complete the work, I heard 3 months. the service requirements have increased to 30 hours and the work you do has become more specific. nothing that will stop anyone who wants a 6 month elk season.
-
I can take the test, and do the work necessary to be a masterhunter however that is not my point! They should not be allowing the master hunters to take cows when they took it away from the general hunts. The reason cows were taken from the 328 unit was due to elk decline.

I learned a long time ago that you can't control the seasons, just put em' to work for you. the elk are thick in the wrong places, that is the purpose of the 3911 hunt. it is in no way to take animals from any other seasons. if you want to hunt there do the work, or do like I did, get pissed off about it for a few years, then do the work and enjoy the rewards.
