Post by: Lady Grouse hunter on October 10, 2019, 11:34:28 PM
How to age a Shotguns era/year made by serial #???
I have a 1960's Eibar SxS 16 gauge double triggers, walnut fore grip & stock with raised cheek pad. Butt end is a thin plastic like grips on an old revolver. Made in Spain
Will try to upload pics soon,,

I'd reach out to Vintage Doubles in Wenatchee.

Rather than a brand, Eibar is a gun making region in Spain that has produced SXS shotguns exported to the US under various brand names. With the cheek piece, I suspect Richland Arms. This area of Spain is in the Basque region and I suspect Zabela is the actual maker. Google "Eibar double barrel shotguns" and it comes up with photos (perhaps of your gun) and some interesting history of the region.
