Just wondering on when a good time to start using scents? Is it too soon to start?

Modern season isn't too early imho.

Hmmmm - anytime now, maybe another week though.

I'm hesitant to recommend or use them much any more with Chronic Wasting Disease being associated with deer urine prions - possibly spread through bottled doe in estrus urine.  It may be a dangerous practice though that has not been proven (to my knowledge) at this point.  It seems prudent to recommend using them on a wick and hanging them vice spraying them on the ground or using them on a drag rag (just to be safe).  Do what makes sense to you.

Where are there documented Blacktails with CWD? If it is truly Blacktail estrus, I don't think there are any problems.

I've been seeing bucks following does nose up, so I'd use it now.

I don’t believe there has been any documented cases, but beginning Jan. 1, 2020, the state of Oregon will be banning the use of elk and deer estrus scents due to the possibility or threat of it occurring. I’m sure other states like Washington will follow right along in the not so distant future.

For the OP, I would definitely be using them right now! It’s that time!
