Unintended Consequence of Gun Control: Wildlife Suffers
Writing Monday in The Federalist, Nephi Cole—director of government relations and state affairs for the National Shooting Sports Foundation—exposed an untidy fact for gun control zealots, especially those running for the Democratic presidential nomination: Without hunters and shooters, the nation’s wildlife conservation programs could collapse.

There is some data in here Washington hunters will find useful.

A lot of the money raised through the Pittman tax has gone to establish and manage the wolf population in a number of western states....

Well-written Dave and a good reminder of one very important aspect of gun ownership. When groups like the Defenders of Wildlife and the HSUS spend almost all of their money on litigation and advertising to curtail and eventually end hunting, gun owners actually are doing something to ensure we have abundant wildlife for generations to come. Stop the gun sales and you stop the conservation. Great point!

Although I personally oppose the spending of PR funds on the wolf reintroduction and think that the time to manage them has long past, it's another point that will have leftists stand up and take notice of the importance of continued gun and ammo purchases for the conservation of their favorite fluffy woodland dogs. Who else is funding this program? Not them, surely. Between PR funds and license and tag sales, hunters and gun owners are paying the lion's share of the bill. So, you can use it as a positive argument with those leftist anti-gunners even as you throw up a little in your mouth.

The point is that those that control the money raised have not always had the best interests of the hunters that paid the taxes in mind when they spent the money on liberal causes...

I get the point and I agree. And, the theft of our PR funds for the wolf program can be used to our advantage when speaking with the left about guns and hunting.

Who ever said they cared about wildlife anyway.....the wolf is a tool to end hunting to get at guns, so they think/thought. How could bringing back the wolves be construed as caring for other animals ??
That is merely one of their angles to disarm those they fear the most, honest law abiding legal gun owners. They think minus the guns, we're all sheep.
Another thing.....where ever, when ever theres been millions$ involved, regardless of subject, there is and always has been corruption.

OK, well this train went way off the rails. :dunno:

So they are reintroducing wolves to get our guns? That's some 3D chess right there.

No worries here. They'll just raise taxes to make up the lost revenue.
