I drove by the Everett location today to find that they are going bankrupt and shutting down the stores. Everything in the store is 10 to 50 percent off. I picked up a few things. Just thought I'd bring this up in case any fisherman on here might want to check it out in case they need something. I'm including the on-line ad I found when I got home for information purposes.

Thanks for the info Goldeneye. I'll have to swing in there this weekend and see what they got. Was there still good stuff left or was is getting pretty bleek?

Yup, Southcenter too. They're closing all 139 stores in the US. Sad. I like that place.

Yea, they are still very well stocked. This all just came about apparently. The way it sounded from the Everett store manager this news was dropped on them with no notice. He's pretty irritated with the whole situation. The person that owns the Boaters World chain also owns the Ritz Camera chain. I guess the owners plan is to expand Ritz Camera at the cost of the Boaters World Chain. I imagine with the economy the way it is we'll see more of this type of thing.

Wonder what this will do to the Sturgeon derby out of the Columbia River Estusry in June? Guess I better be heading to Federal Way to see if I need anything..

Been in the ones off I-5 on 38th street in Tacoma, and off 101 on Black Lake Blvd. in Olympia. Never saw any other customer come or go in either store. Wasn't needing much in any stop. One time tore the leg off my raingear at work. Stopped by only to be surprized that all they had in foul weather gear was cheap throw away china junk.

That is too bad. I prefer them over West Marine any day even though they were over priced on a lot of stuff, but so was West Marine.
