So, is everybody stoked for tomorrow’s opener?

At least it’s been cold enough

Not really

Does temperature effect onset of primeness? Not really, Primeness is brought on by the amount of sunlight, so shorter days are what brings prime fur. Cloudy weather and the subsequent lack of sunlight can advance the onset of primeness by up to 10 days. Conversely bright sunny weather can delay it.
Nothing s fully prime on Nov 1 but than again we can't harvest everything on that one day a year when everything is at maximum primness but has not started to deteriorate so it will always be a judgment call on the part of the trapper.
Good luck out there. I'm waiting until Thanksgiving.

I'm waiting to set out towards the end of Nov. I hope everyone has a great and safe season!!

I would wait, always do for kitties until Christmas when I was purely calling.... buttttt I got 3 camtrip cages I’ve been staring at since September and it’s been snowy since September where I’ve seen a cat a couple times. So I’m gonna go set some traps on Sunday and hopefully get my first ever trapped cat! Unfortunately I don’t have anything to trap beaver but I found a few good spots with new sign daily. Might go buy a trap to get some bait
