Figured I’d post my 2019 bucks here.
First was Idaho where I was invited to hunt with Karl. It was a great week and on day 4 I connected with the buck we spotted and couldn’t get in for a shot on day 1.
Then was back to WA where I spent the last 3 days of general season sitting in the rain passing small bucks and does (had a second tag). There wasn’t many does around so I elected to eat that tag in hopes of bringing the numbers up a bit. None of the older bucks showed for a shot that season so all I got was a coyote.
Late buck I was in the same spot and not a lot moving opening morning, opening evening with 30 min of light left I saw some does 800 yards out. Then a buck joined them and started pestering them, I glassed him up and saw a heavy frame, good brow tines and an older deer. Raced to cut the distance and 2 shots from 360 yards was all it took. First shot lunged him but he was still on his feet so I finished him in the neck. The little 6 creedmoor just doesn’t have the pop of the 300 win with 215 Berger’s. Strange it’s less than half the bullet weight and starting 40 FPS slower. :chuckle:
Glad to get another older 5+ year old 4 point out of the population.

Good work Chris - nice respectable bucks, and a yote to boot!

Thanks! I need to spend some more time after yotes out there. So many.

Here’s some ATLa pic of my pack, and a picture from when the pack out turned into a bear hunt. I saw a bear go into the aspens and set up hoping he would come out but he never did.

One more.
