Title: A Rainy Western WA Sunday
Post by: KP-Skagit on November 18, 2019, 08:31:45 AM
What goes together better than tender venison and chanterelles?

Stumbling around the woods in the morning yielded a very promising chanterelle spot. Headed home and came back with my girlfriend to confirm, I had just found the best chanterelle spot I have ever seen. Two hours, and two full 5 gal buckets later I dropped her back off at home. With 2 hours of light left I went back and found a spike taking an evening stroll. Really had to stretch the barrel to get a 10 yard neck shot. Last day, second to last hour.

And yes, I am still soaking wet...

All within 15 minutes of home. What a place we live in!

Backstrap and sauteed Chanterelles does not get much better than that.
