So you bought both the Kimber and the 45/70???  I'm not following you?

I love my kimber but it is an older one....wouldn't trade it for anything.  I also have a 45/70 (marlin) but it too is very fun and super effective on all sized game animals.  I hope you bought them both.....a person can never have to many guns.

I’ve had a marlin 1895 for about 5 or 6 years, lots of fun with lighter loads, but will wear you out in a hurry with the heavy stuff! Would be a great gun for about 90% of the ranges you’d get a shot at on the west side.

have marlin XLR's and love them! years ago purchased 5 at once,  the gun salesman did a double take. Dads, mine, 2 sons and nephew.…. run my own loads but that is another story!
